Meditation can be a wonderful way to quicly de-stress for parents and kids.  The trick is learn this great life skill when young!  I teach many adults to meditate for stress, anxiety and insomina.  It's amazing the results they see once they learn how to do it.  It certainly takes practice as it is an acquired skill.  So many students tell me that they watch TV or use their phone while in bed.  This can lead to difficulty sleeping as the light signals your brain to stay awake.   Some people are also very sensitive to electrom magnetic energy and even wi-fi.  Keep this in mind if you or your kids are having difficulty sleeping.  A good rule of thumb is no screen time for the hour prior to bedtime.  I know that can be difficult!   Try meditating, sitting upright and drawing deep breaths through your nose, holding for a count of one and releasing the breath through your mouth.  Try one of the guided meditations on the left.  They can be helpful if you practice  a few night s per week.  There are many great free meditations on youtube!
